China Update
It seems like a lot of people have been asking me about our Chinese adoption lately, so I thought that I would talk about it here. Well, we are over 2 years into our process and at the moment I don't see an end in sight. China is still placing babies into families monthly, but they are only referring a week or less at a time. This month they placed children through February 23rd, 2006 and we are August 29th, 2006. So the natural response is that,"You are getting close," but in China time we are still, I fear, years away. This year China has placed only 2 months of babies, and supposedly March 2006 is very large and people are estimating that it could take all of 2009 to get through that one month. We are really torn about all of this. We really believed back in 2006, that our daughter was in China and that was where we were meant to go. Today we wonder if we are meant to go back to Ethiopia where the need is SO great and babies are dying on a daily basis. At the moment, we plan to hold on a while longer and see what the next few months have in store. Stay tuned!
