I did it! I opened an Etsy store. What is Etsy? Well, it is a site for all things handmade from clothes to jewelry to paintings to toys. I decided that I needed a new challenge, so I have put some of the things that I have been sewing on the site. With each purchase, I am giving 10% to different organizations in Africa. This month I will be donating to Ethio-American Family Services who hopes to build the Miskaye orphanage and care center in Ethiopia. This organization has been started by a family in our agency who adopted a little one from Ethiopia with the hopes for better care for Ethiopian orphans. After visiting 2 different orphanages in Addis and after losing Sophonias, we truly understand the dire need for improving the current situation of orphanages in Ethiopia. Dedra is heading over next month to rent a building and hire the staff. I will be going hopefully in Febraury when we should have some deserving kids enjoying the fuits of everyone's labor.
